St. Patrick Parish

Father Gow is a native of the diocese of Rockford. He began his studies for the priesthood in 2000 and earned his bachelor's degree in Philosophy from St. Gregory the Great Seminary in Seward, Nebraska in 2004. He earned his Master of Divinity degree from Mount St. Mary's Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland in 2008, the same year he was ordained.

He was first appointed as Parochial Vicar (Associate) to Saints Peter and Paul in Cary for three years (2008 - 2011). In those first three years he also taught at Marian Central Catholic High School in Woodstock. There he taught the social doctrine of the Church, Vocations, and a year long course on Scripture. At the end of that assignment, in the July of 2011, he was appointed as one of two Parochial Vicars to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Crystal Lake. In the moves that happened as a cause of Rockford's then Msgr. Kagan being elevated to the Episcopate, Fr. Gow was appointed to come here to St. Patrick as Fr. Keenan was appointed the pastor of St. Mary's in Elgin. On October 24th of 2011 Fr. Gow started here at St. Patrick's as our Parochial Administrator.
